Alan Robert has volunteered with the Old Town Vegreville Community League for the past three decades, maintaining and restoring the historic buildings and the cemetery. He also mentored youth as a minor hockey coach and referee, and raised funds for the Vegreville Minor Hockey Association, the Alberta Figure Skating Association, and the National Ice Theatre of Canada.
