June and Nick Usher have been active members of the Royal Canadian Legion for more than 40 years, serving on the executive committee, participating in the annual Poppy Campaign, and visiting veterans in hospitals and long-term care facilities. They also volunteered with the Cape Breton Navy League of Canada and the New Waterford Lions Club.
