Since immigrating to Canada, Harjinder Gill has been involved in the South Asian community in Brampton, volunteering with seniors and new immigrants with organizations such as the Guru Nanak Mission Centre and Brampton Seniors Club. He has also volunteered for the past 20 years with PAHAL in both India and Canada.
