Beyond his work as a volunteer firefighter, Wayne Nie is equally dedicated to working with youth organizations. He gives of his time to the Haldimand Norfolk REACH, helping to enhance the lives of youth, as well as with the Dunnville Minor Hockey where he currently serves on the executive and as a head convenor for the area league.
