William Laskin has made exceptional contributions to Canada's music community. A man of boundless energy and creativity, he is a professional luthier, artist, author, musician and songwriter. He is internationally known for the intricate inlay work and masterful construction of his instruments. Devoted to the promotion of Canada's folk music heritage, he founded the Association of String Instrument Artisans, and was a co-founder of the Canadian Folk Music Awards and Borealis Records.
