An accomplished scientist and experienced administrator, Gilles Patry is a key figure in the academic and engineering sectors. At the University of Ottawa, he held several senior positions, including dean of the Faculty of Engineering; vice-president, Academic; and later, president and vice-chancellor of the university. Among his many achievements are the expansion of co-operative education programs and the creation of the Research Chairs in Canadian Francophonie. Equally renowned for his research into the treatment of waste water and drinking water, he was the president and founder of Hydromantis Inc., a consulting firm of field experts.
