Brenda Robertson is a trailblazer and role model for women in politics. In 1967, she became the first woman elected to the New Brunswick Legislature and later served as the province's first female cabinet minister. As minister of health, she played a key role in the implementation of significant social policy such as the landmark Extra-Mural Program, which provides comprehensive health care services for individuals in their homes. Later, she was appointed to the Senate, where she championed health care and social issues. An inspiring leader, she remains a steadfast advocate for her fellow Atlantic Canadians.
