Beginning his career as a painter and printmaker, he later created innovative and imaginative nail relief sculptures. Known as "Naillies" and described as "landscape abstractions without the horizon", they have been the subject of many exhibits in Canada and abroad. His creations are found in major galleries, including the National Gallery of Canada and the MontrÚal Museum of Fine Arts, as well as in many corporate collections. Among his commissioned works are sculptures in Toronto City Hall and Canada's Capital Congress Centre. The co-founder of the St. Catharines Art Association, he continues to inspire many young artists.
