Saul "Red" Fisher, C.M. (deceased)
Montréal, Quebec
Red Fisher was one of the nation’s most trusted and informed commentators on the game of hockey. Dubbed the “dean of hockey writers,” he was best known as the chronicler of the Montreal Canadiens franchise. He covered more than 5 000 National Hockey League games, including 17 Stanley Cup championships, over the course of a career spanning six decades. His words brought to life some of Canada’s most iconic moments in hockey, including the 1972 Summit Series and Canada’s Olympic hockey victories.
