A distinguished medical specialist and administrator, Richard Baltzan has helped to improve the quality of patient care locally, provincially and nationally. As chief of medicine at St. Paul's Hospital in Saskatoon, he was instrumental in establishing such treatment programs as renal transplants, same-day surgeries and hemodialysis for individuals suffering from kidney disease. Former president of the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Saskatchewan and the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada, he is a leader in his profession and has promoted the highest standards of medical education in our country.
