Chief Levi of the Big Cove Reserve in New Brunswick early resolved to work for the welfare and development of the Micmacs. He has notably improved the life of his reserve through housing, public works and the creation of Micmac Industries. Among his other achievements are summer games, an ice arena, a community hall, a health centre, a fire and police station and a school with Indian staff. His pride in his heritage has inspired new confidence in others.
