This native of Edmonton has devoted his life and energies to combating addiction in his city and province. Beginning as a teacher, he later became regional director of the Alberta Alcohol and Drug Abuse Commission, serving in the courts as a counselor and establishing a rehabilitation programme for impaired drivers. He has rescued many who would otherwise have been drop-outs from society.
