An environmentalist before the term was in vogue, he has devoted his life to research and increasing public awareness on environmental issues. Co-founder of Pollution Probe and the Canadian Environmental Law Association, as well as the first Director of the Joint Centre for Toxicology at the University of Toronto and Guelph University, he is presently serving as President and Chairman of the Ontario Waste Management Corporation, where he has the onerous task of responding to the concerns of government, industry and the public.
