For more than 50 years, he has helped establish fora for dialogue between different religions and cultures. A member of the Congretation of Holy Cross. In particular, he founded the Centre Monchanin, which is now the internationally renowned Institut interculturel de Montréal. In addition, he is the co-founder of the Institut québécois d'études sur la culture juive and the author of many essays and works. A man of open heart and mind, he also works to promote peace. Co-founder and Vice-President of Educators for World Peace, he implemented the World Conference on Religion and Peace/Canada in Montréal, of which he is honorary president.
