He has played a major part in the recovery of the peregrine falcon, which was almost extinct because of environmental pollution. More than thirty years ago, he established a captive breeding program with the Canadian Wildlife Service aimed at restoring the peregrine falcon population. Today, because of his perseverance, these falcons are no longer endangered and are now nesting in areas where they were once extinct.
