Philanthropist and patron of the arts, he gives generously of his time and financial resources to many cultural and charitable organizations. Believing passionately in the importance of keeping the arts and culture alive in his community, he has hosted profitable and entertaining events on behalf of the Art Gallery of Greater Victoria, the Victoria Symphony and the Pacific Opera. He has also been a tireless fundraiser for the city's Hospital Foundation, the United Way and the B.C. Hospital for Sick Children.
