Now retired as an executive in the energy field, he continues his humanitarian service to the community, particularly by helping those fighting substance abuse. A founding member of the Alcoholic Foundation of Alberta, his efforts in combatting this important health problem have been honoured by the creation, in his name, of an endowment fund for addiction research at the University of Calgary.
