Buoyed by his own victory against cancer, he has devoted his time and energy to those battling this terrible disease. He was the catalyst in the establishment of a cancer treatment centre in Rimouski and the construction of a patient hostel. Thanks to these initiatives, Eastern Quebeckers no longer have to travel to big cities for treatment. Still active, he is now setting up a palliative care residence.
