The first woman to be appointed Inspector of Schools in Nova Scotia, she has spent a lifetime serving her community. She is a leader who has been involved with youth, education, health care, heritage and the economic development of her province. In particular, she has been active with the 4-H Club for more than 40 years. She has also volunteered her skills and talents to the Nova Scotia Hearing and Speech Clinic and the MacAskill House Museum Society. A woman of action, she has contributed greatly to improving the quality of life for youth and rural citizens of Cape Breton.
