An internationally-renowned scholar of East Asian Philosophy and Religion, she holds the distinguished rank of University Professor Emerita at the University of Toronto. Author of numerous books, she is also an editor on the board of several learned journals. Active within the Chinese Canadian community and with several non-governmental organizations, she is deeply committed to human rights, disarmament and social justice. Her work has served to strengthen the social fabric of our country.
