His groundbreaking work, which linked a specific virus to cervical cancer, launched a vast new realm in cancer research. This renowned cytopathologist and Professor Emeritus at Laval University also developed and implemented a cervical cancer screening process now used worldwide. In addition, he established a cytopathology laboratory and founded Laval's School of Cytotechnology, which attracts students from around the world.
