John and Patricia Patkau have earned an outstanding reputation for design excellence. Together they have collaborated on a number of innovative architectural projects, including the Emily Carr College of Art and Design in Vancouver, the Canadian Clay and Glass Gallery in Waterloo and the Bibliothèque nationale du Québec in Montreal. Their award-winning designs have been widely published and Patkau Architects was chosen to represent Canada at the Venice Biennale in 1996. In addition, they have shared their expertise with students at various universities in Canada and the United States.
