Robert Donald Munro, C.M.

Bob Munro is a local-to-global community builder and policy advisor involved in initiatives implemented around the world. He helped develop the worldwide environment movement following the first United Nations environment conference in 1972, and also helped ensure sustainable development became a key priority in the 1987 World Commission Report and beyond. As founder of the Mathare Youth Sports Association, he launched a youth-led organization that has been uniting sport with community development in the Nairobi slums since 1987. For five decades, he has influenced environmental and social progress from the grassroots to global levels.
