He is accomplished in a wide variety of fields. As President of the Banff Centre for the Arts, he has played an important role in maintaining the Centre's international reputation. Over the years, he has effectively guided and promoted the facility as one of Canada's premiere arts education institutions for professional artists. Among his other contributions, he worked to protect and strengthen Canada's links with Asia as President of the Asia-Pacific Foundation.
