Manoly Lupul has worked to preserve and enhance Ukrainian culture and language within Canada's multicultural mosaic. Professor emeritus of Education at the University of Alberta, he was instrumental in founding the Canadian Institute of Ukrainian Studies (CIUS) at the university, where he served as its first director. A fervent believer in the principles of multiculturalism, he helped to bring about educational initiatives to meet the growing needs of Canada's diverse ethnic minorities.
