He has made major contributions to legal education for Aboriginals for more than twenty-five years. He founded the Native Law Centre at the University of Saskatchewan which has helped develop Aboriginal law in Canada. He also initiated a program at the Centre aimed at preparing students of Native ancestry for entry into Canadian law programs. His efforts have influenced more than four hundred Aboriginals to pursue a career in law. The Native Law Centre offers counselling to students and demonstrates that a legal education is accessible to everyone.
