Julia Foster has been a pillar of support for the arts in Canada. A former marketing executive and a director on many corporate boards, she has shared her business and leadership acumen with not-for-profit organizations, notably as the chair of the Stratford Festival, the Ontario Arts Council and the National Arts Centre. In these roles, she has been praised for her commitment to artistic excellence and to effective board governance. Beyond the arts, she is the former chair of the board of governors at York University and trustee of the Hospital for Sick Children.
