    A committed and tireless volunteer, Kenneth Sauer is a cornerstone of his community. For more than 50 years, he has been making outstanding contributions to health care, sport and community service at the local and provincial levels. A former educator and city alderman, he has taken on leadership roles with groups such as the Palliser Health Authority, ParticipAction and the Kiwanis Club. He was instrumental in securing Medicine Hat as host for the 2002 Alberta Winter Games and the 2008 Alberta Summer Games. As well, he played a key role as chair of the Alberta Safety Codes Council, overseeing its growth into a respected regulatory body.
