Pierre Fréchette is a leader in the field of traumatology in Quebec. An emergency physician at the Hôpital de l'Enfant-Jésus for nearly 40 years, he played a key role in reforming the emergency system, and in creating and implementing Quebec's traumatology program. He helped to save countless lives by developing and setting up the Service d'évacuations aéromédicales du Québec, a program that allows people living in isolated regions to be transported quickly to appropriate hospitals. Moreover, he worked to establish the Centre d'expertise pour victimes de brûlures graves de l'Est du Québec.
