His contributions as an administrator, educator and artist have enriched Canada's cultural legacy. Garry Neill Kennedy is renowned for transforming the Nova Scotia College of Art and Design into one of the most innovative and highly respected art schools in the world. During his 23-year presidency, he built its reputation by introducing initiatives such as the first Master of Fine Arts degree in Canada and an artist-in-residence program. As a professor and highly respected mentor, he has nurtured emerging artists throughout his long teaching career. Equally well known as a visual artist, he has received international acclaim for his creative works.
