One of our nation's pre-eminent literary translators, she opens the door to the richness of French-Canadian literature. Her vast portfolio of French to English translations include the novels of some of Quebec's best-known contemporary authors. Her work is praised for its sensitivity and has received numerous honours, including the Governor General's Literary Award and two Canada Council Translation Prizes. Known for her encouragement and support of English-language writers in her province, she remains a force for harmony and respect between Quebec's two principal literary worlds.
