Millions of children living in Third World countries have been protected from life-threatening diseases because of this Rotarian's determination to reduce child mortality. A general practitioner and long-time member of Whitby's Rotary Club, he embraced the service group's mission to eradicate polio by the year 2005. Inspired by the cause, he launched an international crusade to innoculate infants and children. Since 1979, he has travelled, at his own expense, to southern India to supervise various projects. The response has been phenomenal and Rotarians around the world have joined this great humanitarian on his quest to protect children from disease.
