He is responsible for the phenomenal growth and diversification of a small family company that he transformed into one of the largest trucking firms in North America. He has also volunteered his time and effort to a wide variety of groups, including the Canadian Olympic Foundation, the McCaig Centre for Orthopedic and Arthritis Research at the University of Calgary, and the Calgary Regional Health Authority, of which he is Chair. He has shown exemplary leadership as a corporate builder, an organizer and an outstanding volunteer.
