As a lawyer, businessman, historian, author and philanthropist, he has contributed greatly to Canadian society. He has co-authored books on Jewish-Canadian history and has been instrumental in the restoration of a number of historic building projects in the Toronto area. The founding director of several local historical societies and former Chair of the Heritage Canada Foundation, he is determined to demonstrate the inclusiveness of Canada's heritage through its architecture, its artifacts and its history.
