He is known as a humane and approachable person and has been the moving force behind several projects to promote solidarity. He showed boundless dedication during the flooding of the Saguenay River, spending all of his time and energy assisting those in need. His skill as an organizer and administrator enabled him to oversee the Red Cross Fund for the disaster. He has also led several episcopal commissions and sat on several committees within the AssemblÚe des ╔vÛques du QuÚbec.
