A professor at McGill University and President of the Association of Maritime Arbitrators of Canada, he is recognized both at home and abroad for his expertise in admiralty law. He has been involved in drafting maritime laws for four countries and is a leader in the field of shipping law. During his career as a lawyer, politician and academic, he has contributed greatly to the public life of his province and country as a most civic-minded citizen.
