Founder of the Dystonia Medical Research Foundation, she is an avid fund-raiser, who has greatly enhanced public awareness of this illness. She has also raised funds for the H.I.V. Care Unit at the B.C. Children's Hospital and the Research Centre at St. Paul's Hospital in Vancouver. Co-founder of the Center for Holocaust Studies in Los Angeles, and Chair of the design committee of the city's Museum of Tolerance, she has demonstrated that voluntarism transcends race, colour and religion.
