Her visionary innovations in modern gerontology have secured an improved quality of life for senior citizens. An effective motivator, based in Winnipeg, she has played a major role in the development of social policies, including advocating home care as an alternative to hospitalization. As President of the National Advisory Council on Aging, she served as a catalyst, propagating community-based support networks including non-profit housing, to provide a nurturing infrastructure and greater autonomy to seniors.
