His association with the School of Medicine at the University of Alberta and Royal Alexandria Hospital in Edmonton spans four decades. Over two thousand students attended his lectures and took part in clinical sessions under his tutelage. The scope and merit of his work have earned him fellowships and honours including several Teacher of the Year awards and the establishment by the University of a Chair in Medical Education in his name.
