He has greatly strengthened Canada's legacy of cross-cultural understanding since his arrival in this country in the 1960s. His initial involvement with multicultural organizations in Winnipeg and Edmonton soon extended to the national stage as editor and publisher of the Canadian Link. In addition to his journalistic efforts to promote multiculturalism, he has served two consecutive terms as a member of the Canadian Human Rights Commission. Throughout his life, he has advocated the recognition of the dignity of all people.
