His stellar record of community involvement has been evident primarily in the cultural and heritage sectors. In addition to his duties as Executive Director of the Red Deer and District Museum, he also served as President of both the Alberta and the Canadian Museums Associations. As a community leader, he helped spark the funding drives for the construction of the Red Deer College Arts Centre and a community wildlife preserve. Now retired, he remains active in shaping heritage policies at the municipal, provincial and national levels.
