Immigrating to Canada at an early age, he eventually settled in Edmonton and established a successful property management and venture capital business. Committed to giving something back to his adopted community, he began a long-standing relationship with the University of Alberta. His many gifts to the campus range from land for a wildlife sanctuary, to funds for library and computer acquisitions. He has also been a generous benefactor to the arts community and to programs for disadvantaged youth.
