Distinguished Research Professor Emeritus of Physics and Astronomy at York University, he is the founder of its Centre for Research in Earth and Space Science, an internationally-recognized space research and graduate training institution. He is also a valued advisor to both government and industry on the development of national space science policy. A pioneer in his field, he has forged links with other important research centres of excellence to enable future generations to build upon his work.
