Throughout four decades in the Canadian petroleum industry, he has earned a strong reputation for his high ethical business standards. Outside of his professional career, he has helped lead fund-raising campaigns for several organizations such as the University of Calgary and the United Way. He maintains a special affiliation with the health sector, through his long association with the Alberta Children's Hospital and as Co-Chair of a multimillion-dollar drive to help fund centres of medical excellence in Alberta.
