President and Chief Executive Officer of the Canadian National Institute for the Blind, he has greatly improved the standard of living of many people with visual impairments. Through his commitment to ensuring the provision of the necessary community resources, he has helped people with vision loss live fuller and more independent lives. Among the many initiatives he has promoted are a national braille and talking book program and improved access to information. His own life exemplifies how one can overcome barriers and become self-sufficient.
