A Toronto construction executive, he has improved the lives of many residents by developing a local hospital, helping to fund a senior citizens project, and establishing a shelter for disadvantaged people. A staunch supporter of the arts, he created a city sculpture garden, where many Canadian sculptors have been given their first opportunity to publicly exhibit their works. His wide-ranging philanthropy is also evident through his donation of bronze casting foundries to two Toronto post-secondary institutions.
