Following her career as a soprano, she turned her talent, knowledge, generosity and enthusiasm to promoting opera. The magazine Opera Canada, which she founded, has, over the years, sustained the growth of this performing art from coast to coast. To encourage talented youth and to meet the need for well-trained young singers, she founded the Canadian Children's Opera Chorus and also endowed an award at the University of Toronto.
