With a keen business acumen and a commitment to innovation, Haig Farris has helped
build Canada’s high-technology sector. As president of Fractal Capital Corporation
and co-founder of Ventures West Capital, he spent over four decades bringing
research to the marketplace in areas as diverse as wireless data, satellite information
systems and quantum computing. He has mentored many on the art of the successful
start-up, and has given back to his community as a supporter of the University of
British Columbia, as a founder of Vancouver’s Science World, and as the former chair
of the Science Council of B.C.
