He has been a lifelong advocate of social justice, equal opportunities for those who are disadvantaged and respect for people of every race, colour, ethnic background, gender or class. As a social worker and member of many community development organizations in Nova Scotia, he used his gifts for bringing together people with diverse interests in support of various projects.
