She has been a staunch advocate for the rights and well-being of Canadian children. Becoming one of the first social workers in Nova Scotia to recognize the need for more openness in the adoption process, she has devoted her career to effecting positive social change. As a result of her vision, innovative apprenticeship and job training opportunities have empowered many young people with important life skills and provided a positive alternative to street life.
